L'AFFICHE DU FILM - THE POSTER OF THE FILM





SYNOPSIS

Alice vit dans un monde imaginaire où tout le monde devrait être bien peigné. Deux hommes sont secrètement amoureux d'elle, l'un est très mal coiffé, l'autre porte toujours un chapeau.

In English:

Alice lives in a fantasy world where all people should have tidy hair. Two guys are in love with her, but she is unaware of it. One has unkempt hair, the other one always wear a hat.

CAROLINE CHU / CO-SCENARISTE ET REALISATRICE - CO-WRITER & FILM DIRECTOR



Born in London, of a Canadian mother and a father from Hong Kong, Caroline Chu was educated at bilingual schools in Paris. Three years of drama school revealed her passion for staging dramas and directing actors. Caroline holds a master’s in Philosophy and a BA in Chinese. As a certified film and TV translator, she spent several years in post-production, adapting programs for various French networks, including TF1, France 2, France 3, ARTE, etc.

Driven by an irresistible urge to make her own films, she completed a program in cinema and TV production, followed by a training course in filmmaking at a school in Paris. 

In 2011, her first short film, The Miraculous Survivor of Saint Sauveur (Le Miraculé de Saint-Sauveur) was selected by the Palm Springs International Short Film Festival. The same year, it screened at the American Cinemathèque in Hollywood’s Egyptian Theatre, and in 2012 it received an Honorable Mention from the Rochester International Short Film Festival. 

In 2012, Caroline wrote and directed the 26-minute film The Dragon and the Phoenix (Le Dragon et le Phénix), which won Best Foreign Language Short at the Bare Bones Festival in 2015 and was selected for the American Online Film Awards in 2014. The Dragon and the Phoenix was also officially selected for Best Editing of a Foreign Language Film, Best Cinematography in a Foreign Language Film, Best Short Foreign Language Film, and Best Sound Design at the 2017 LONDON IFF.

In 2014, she directed An Ideal Roommate (Un Colocataire Idéal), shot in two 8-minute versions, French and Chinese, and which was screened during a week (From the 22 till the 30th of April 2017) at the Center of Art and Creation at Aulnay Sous Bois (France). This Center has dedicated itself to Art and creates strong ties and bonds with the Chinese contemporary Art Market.

Her 12-minute short, Comb Me (Peigne-moi) was part of The Monaco Charity Film Festival in 2014, and part of the official selection at Lady's First International Film Festival in Ireland (Cork) in 2017. 


Caroline is finishing one documentary film bearing on the Chinese Labourers in Europe during World War One.
